Summary: Functions as a senior member of the executive team. Responsible for generating promotional opportunities and establishing strategic alliances with third parties. Responsible for promotion and alliances and other short-term responsibilities addressing previously unassigned special needs by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops tourism promotions composed of media promotions and consumer incentives. Media Promotions are awareness-building promos, typically in the form of a trip giveaway and often, but not always, negotiated as an extension of a paid advertising buy. Consumer Incentives are call-to-action promotions designed to motivate the consumer to do something, inquire, save, book, and ultimately, to buy. Includes value programs, savings programs and special events.*
Responsible for strategic alliances, also known as tie-in programs, which may be corporate, media or governmental projects that combine forces to mutual advantage, most often with in-kind services or media as the coin of the realm rather than cash contributions. Responsible for conceiving, proposing, developing and/or executing such programs.*
Responsible for strategic planning, including working closely with CEO on development of the organization's strategic plans, both short and long-term, within and without the traditional planning cycle.*
Participates in brand development, including defining and articulating the destination brand and effectively communicating it to staff and stakeholders.
Participates in agency support, including assisting CEO as needed in all aspects of marketing agency supervision, including creative, media and account service.
Responsible for Fulfillment, eCRM and selected staff supervision, including supervising the Promotions Coordinator and the Database and Special Events Manager.*
Assists with special projects as necessary.
Directly supervises two employees in Promotions and Database and Special Events. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; HTML technical ability and Microsoft PowerPoint as well as practical knowledge and experience with social media platforms.
Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university; or eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least five years developing and administering strategic partnerships for consumer marketing organizations.
