The Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Convention Sales Manager. Sales manager will work as a part of a team to promote and sell Oklahoma City as a convention and meeting destination for associations and corporations; achieves specific room night sales goals as assigned and reviewed annually.
Successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Degree in marketing, public relations, business or meeting destination management preferred.
Minimum five years’ experience in group sales. Prior experience with a CVB or a destination with Convention Center is preferred.
Proven skills in account management, direct sales, sales presentations (oral and written) and trade show exhibiting required.
Understanding of hospitality/tourism industry and experience with DMO software a plus.
Must be able to develop and write effective reports and business correspondence.
Strong written / verbal communication skills.
Self –starter with ability to set and achieve sales goals.
Be able to work as a part of a team.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. Must be willing and able to travel independently as necessary.
