Visit Dana Point is seeking a sales professional to position Dana Point and the four TBID resorts of Dana Point (DoubleTree by Hilton Doheny Beach, Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa, Monarch Beach Resort and The Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel) as a premier group & meetings destination.
Develop sales strategy and an implantation program to position Dana Point as a meetings/group destination.
Represent Dana Point at trade shows, conferences and summits.
Suggest industry and client specific media, advertising, and promotional opportunities that generate return on investment ROI.
Manage relationships with third party organizations (i.e. HelmsBriscoe, ConferenceDirect, Cvent, etc.) and develop partnerships that result in increased awareness of the destination and the resorts.
Further existing relationships with meeting planners and prospect new clients.
Create unique and new programs and promotional opportunities that earn interest from clients and designate Dana Point as a one-of-a-kind destination.
Coordinate and manage client site inspections and familiarization (FAM) tours.
Design unique sales opportunities that engage stakeholders (i.e. sales missions, training, brand building exercises, etc.)
Develop programs to engage community stakeholders and tourism related business to increase partnership opportunities and organizational revenues.
Work with strategic partners to design engaging collateral, trade show booths, pop up banners, advertisements, presentations, sales books, etc.
Maintain close working relationship with TBID Resorts Director of Sales/Marketing.
Establish key performance indicators to measure / report ROI as relates to responsibilities.
Meet and/or exceed assigned goals.
Work exclusively in the customer relationship management (CRM) database.
Minimum of five years senior level experience with a destination marketing organization (DMO/CVB), hotel, and/or convention center.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field or 10 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. Master’s degree and credentials (i.e. CMP) preferred.
Proficiency in destination sales, planning, budgeting; and experience working within the meetings industry and the contracting process.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including public speaking and reporting to committees and boards.
Must be goal oriented and be able to work independently.
Knowledge of Dana Point and/or other Southern California beach destinations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and cloud-based CRM databases.
Valid CA driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
