Supports the organization’s role of destination marketing by carrying out its public relations and communications functions. Directs the organization’s publications program by managing vendors. Assists all departments in written communications and messaging.
Develop and execute media relations strategy targeting both travel and feature media to generate destination coverage; includes working with local media to generate coverage of SoIN Tourism and the regional tourism industry.
Execute a community engagement strategy to raise the community profile of SoIN Tourism and the tourism industry it serves.
Liaise with selected vendor to produce the annual visitor guide, managing content and design process; provide or manage written content as needed, maintain accountability of vendor in areas of advertising sales and contract deliverables.
Produce new content and curate existing content in line with editorial plan; manage vendors to produce new content and/or refresh existing content.
Assist marketing and sales team members with developing written content.
Be a visible presence in the community to aid in the development of new partnerships between businesses, community organizations and SoIN Tourism.
Document processes and procedures of the position
Maintain clear communications with other sales and marketing managers to create an effective team.
Maintain performance metrics relative to goals and analyze data for making decisions
Attend industry meetings and provide updates to meeting attendees
Participate in appropriate local, state and national organizations, growing existing and fostering new partnerships and pursuing professional development opportunities.

Required Education and/or Experience
Associates degree in Communications or related field and/or at least two years’ experience in a marketing or communications role with an emphasis on writing.
