Travel Salem is seeking a highly motivated and seasoned Sales Manager responsible for promoting and selling the Salem region as a destination to sports and event planners on a local, regional, and national level with an emphasis on generating economic impact and city-wide overnight lodging. Must have 5 years sports and event sales experience.
Skills and experience needed include:
Working with sporting and event groups
Working with sporting and event venues
Working with lodging properties (e.g. bids, contracts, housing)
Clear and concise verbal and written communication
Networking and relationship building
Leadership and consensus/team building
Creative thinking and problem solving
Technical and creative writing
Customer service skills
Familiar with database and contact management programs
Proficient with all Microsoft applications
Knowledge of the Salem region
Vehicle required. Unencumbered Oregon driver's license. Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds. Travel and some evening and weekend work required.
