Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is now recruiting a Group Sales Manager to join our team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. Opening in late 2024, the property boasts 287 guestrooms including 34 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. Unmatched amenities include a full-service spa, a well-equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who's who of Miami. Spanning 25,000 square feet of innovative indoor and outdoor event space, Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa will become a landing spot for guests and locals seeking celebratory gatherings that embrace the city's culture of music, art, and fashion.
Job Description:
The Group Sales Manager is a junior position responsible for soliciting, developing, and managing group business opportunities for Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa. This role oversees the sales process for guest room blocks and meeting space, driving revenue through proactive prospecting, relationship building, site inspections, contract negotiations, and collaboration with hotel operations and events teams. The Group Sales Manager serves as a brand ambassador, delivering exceptional service while maximizing hotel revenue and market share.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Solicit, negotiate, and book guest rooms and meeting space for corporate, association, incentive, entertainment, social, and other group segments.
- Manage the sales cycle from lead generation through contract execution and turnover to the Events team.
- Conduct site inspections and presentations for prospective clients.
- Prospect and develop new business through outbound sales efforts, networking, referrals, Hyatt Sales Force resources, and third-party platforms.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals tailored to client needs while maximizing hotel profitability.
- Negotiate contracts in the best interests of both the client and the hotel.
- Maintain accurate account, activity, and booking information within Hyatt sales systems.
- Utilize Hyatt sales and reporting tools to manage pipeline, production, forecasting, and account activity.
- Coordinate client requirements and collaborate with Events and Operations teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Participate in hotel, sales, and revenue strategy meetings as required.
- Work closely with Sales, Events, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Operations teams to achieve hotel goals.
- Achieve assigned guest room, revenue, and banquet contribution goals.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, client functions, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of hotel sales experience; luxury or lifestyle hotel experience preferred.
- Experience selling group guestrooms, meeting space, and banquet services preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Knowledge of hotel operations and group sales processes.
- Proven ability to achieve revenue goals and drive business results.
- Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external customers.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated professionalism, initiative, and self-motivation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems.
- Experience with Envision, CVENT, Knowland, or similar sales platforms preferred.
- Ability to learn and utilize Hyatt proprietary systems and reporting tools.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
- Ability to travel locally and nationally for sales calls, client events, and networking opportunities.
